The news about the potential Spice Girls reunion has rocked the internet this week - and while we don't know for sure whether Scary, Sporty, Ginger and Baby will be reforming WITHOUT Posh (or so the rumour goes), one thing it has made us do is look up clips of Spice World: The Movie.

And while it wasn't going to win any Oscars (despite the appearance of Richard E Grant and Meatloaf. MEATLOAF!), in 1997, that film stole our pre-teen hearts - and still provides plenty of lols nearly 18 years on.

So as we ponder whether a Spice Girls reunion really is a good idea, here's why re-watching Spice World this weekend is a 100% foolproof plan for an awesome time.

1. The Cameos

Meatloaf. Richard E Grant. Bob Hoskins. Stephen Fry. Hugh Laurie. Roger Moore. Elvis Costello. Could this film BE any more starry? Well, probably. But it was still what our parents loved about the film - and meant we were allowed to watch it TWICE in the cinema.

2. The Excellent Fashion

Oh, to be an assistant in the costume department on this film. We would have nicked ALL the platform shoes. Also, VB never let her glamorous guard down**. **

**3. The Focus On Female Friendship and Girl Power **

The fab five gave us #SquadGoals before Taylor Swift was on the scene. Also, Geri was scary AF - you wouldn't mess with her.** **

4. Spice Force Five

Stuff Fantastic Four - this is what we want to watch, Marvel. The bit when Victoria miaows as her 'special power' is a piece of cinematic genius. ** **

5. The Banging Special Effects

6. All of Victoria Beckham's Scenes

We learned she was hilarious even before her true moment in the sun: *Victoria Beckham: Coming To America. Remember when she shouted at a boy in a coma? Or went crazy when her 'dry clean only' dress got wet?

7. It Was Hilarious

Sometimes unintentionally. But then the script was as camp as Christmas. ** **

8. While Also Showing The Highs And Lows Of What It Was Like To Be In A HUGE Girlband

One Direction, take note. Life was real hard on the road. Their fights with their manager were based on truths. ** **

9. The Ridiculous Plot

Aliens. Boat scenes. A bus chase. Someone having a baby. The band "getting together as teenagers" even though we know they were manufactured in the classic pop band way. Meatloaf. All vaguely tied together by one theme - the Spice Girls. It was mental - and made absolutely no sense - but so good.

10. The Performances

Because that's why we* really* loved the film - all the ace Spice Girl music moments. Now SPICE UP YOUR LIFE.
