Ever wondered what 100,000 balloons look like en-masse? Head down to Covent Garden from today to find out.

French artist Charles Pétillon’s installation Heartbeat has been assembled in the Grade II listed market building overnight. It stretches 54 metres in length and 12 metres in width and features gentle pulsating white light to symbolise Covent Garden Market's place as the beating heart of the local area. It will remain in situ until 27 September.

Like what you see? Some of Pétillon’s photographs and other work are on display nearby at a pop-up gallery on the Piazza at Unit 5, Royal Opera House Arcade.

Take a look through the gallery to see the balloons being installed, and the final result.
