Hopdoddy's West Coast Expansion Continues With New Playa Vista Location Next Week

Now that Hopdoddy Burger Bar has officially been welcomed into El Segundo’s The Point project, it’s time to look ahead to their next project in Playa Vista.

Initially slated to open before El Segundo, the Playa Vista outpost at The Runway (a similar mixed-use retail, restaurant, and condo compound) is now on track for a mid-September unveiling. That’s obviously only about a week away, so local tech industry folks, NFL Network executives, and anyone living in the neighborhood should plan for imminent craft beer and burger arrival.

The Texas-based chain is well-known for bringing upscale casual features to the burger sector, including a full bar, sleek design touches, and full-on Texas accompaniments like chili con queso. At the Runway, they’ll join other concepts like the recently-opened N’Ice Cream in trying to help feed the recent cascade of newcomers to the neighborhood — plus the longtime Loyola Marymount kids just a stone's throw away.

Hopdoddy Playa Vista has set a tentative opening date for September 15, though official announcements will likely come from their Facebook page. Also, if you're one of the first 50 people in line when the place opens, you'll earn free fries and a t-shirt. So there's that.
