Arizona State women's gymnastics coach Rene Lyst has been placed on indefinite administrative leave.

Assistant Ralph Rosso will direct the team in its final home dual meet against Penn State on Friday and likely for the rest of the season. The Sun Devils have an away meet at Auburn on March 11 and the Pac-12 Championships in Seattle on March 19.

ASU athletics released a short statement about Lyst's leave saying "the university cannot make any other comment regarding this topic as it is a personnel/HR issue." It is not yet known whether Lyst will return in 2016-17.

Lyst is in her second season at ASU after previously working for 13 years as co-head coach at Arkansas. She replaced John Spini, who retired after 34 seasons. Under Lyst, ASU was 2-11 in duals and eighth in the Pac-12 in 2015 and is 1-9 this season.

Last fall, third-year ASU softball coach Craig Nicholson resigned for personal medical reasons. Robert Wagner and Letty Olivarez are co-interim head coaches for softball this season.
