PLANO – Prepare for adorable kawaii overload as the Hello Kitty Cafe Truck, a California-based mobile sweet shop inspired by the popular Sanrio character, will make its way to Plano next month. The unmistakably pink food truck serves macarons, mini-cakes, and other sweets, and will be parked outside of Crate&Barrel at Willow Bend Mall on Saturday, March 12 from 10 a.m. to 8 p.m. [GuideLive]

DEEP ELLUM – If you’re a little short on cash, dine on the cheap at Filament during the restaurant's newly-launched happy hour. Starting Monday, February 29, Filament will offer half-off select dishes, including fried Nashville-style "hot catfish" and BBQ gulf shrimp. All cocktails priced $10 and under will also be just $5, freeing up more room in your budget for expertly-mixed drinks. [EaterWire]

PARK CITIES – The Hospitality Sweet will officially open its doors in Preston Center on Wednesday, March 16. The beloved Downtown breakfast spot’s second outpost will feature an expanded menu, happy hour, and lunch service. On opening day, everyone that checks out the new space will receive a complimentary cake pop. [EaterWire]
