Watch: New York Remembers Filmmaker Chantal Akerman at Touching Tribute

The loss of visionary filmmaker Chantal Akerman in October of last year still stings cinephiles of all stripes, but perhaps the best way to honor and grieve the Belgian breakout is to continue to discuss and dig into her legacy. That’s exactly what happened at a recent event held to honor the filmmaker, and now you can watch the full video of the wonderful event above.

Held last month at New York City’s Lincoln Center, “Chantal Akerman: New York Remembers,” is a moving, wide-ranging tribute to a modern master whose talents will be remembered and cherished for decades to come. Speakers included Jonas Mekas, Babette Mangolte, Andrew Bujalski and many, many more. Watch it in its entirety above.
