This is a great recipe. I am a big fan of dump and go recipes. I like to have them in my freezer, ready to go. I just added the chicken and the first ingredients to a freezer bag, freeze, thaw the night before, and then cook. Then I follow the recipe starting with cooking. This is a delicious recipe. The whole family enjoyed it, and I was happy to add it to my meal plan.

Since it is almost crock pot season, this is a great recipe to add to my "to try" list! I remember eating General Tsaos chicken with white rice and broccoli as a kid and absolutely loving it. This recipe looks easy and uses a lot of ingredients I usually have in my house. I'm hoping the sauce has the right consistency and flavor because it can be so challenging to do those Asian sauces justice!

I know that in most of the Chinese restaurants that I have been to, they tend to use the meat from the chicken thighs for this dish, as well as many other Asian chicken dishes, like orange chicken, for example. If you want a more authentic flavor, you could use boneless skinless chicken thighs. If available, I would definitely go for fresh ginger as opposed to the dried ground variety.

I can always use another chicken crock pot dish. I love making things with rice since it is pretty economical and filling. I am not sure about using sesame seeds. They might make it more authentic, but the seeds would stick in my teeth. I can't eat Asian out many places since most of them use the soy sauce brewed with wheat and I can't have that. It is nice I can make it at home.

There's a wonderful documentary on Netflix called The Search for General Tsao which claims that General Tsao's Chicken is the most popular Chinese dish in America, and that there are quite a few variations of the recipe. The recipe this links to says it was updated recently and it seems like some details are now missing, like the amount of water and ketchup used. It's different from other General Tsao recipes I've encountered and I'm curious how this would be. I can't rate this very well since it's currently incomplete.

My husband really does not like chicken, but this is one recipe he will eat. I want him to see what he thinks of it. I can see adding this to the menu for once a month at least. I am a sucker for Asian foods and any meat and rice combo. Thanks for posting, it looks absolutely marvelous.

This recipe really didn't taste much like General Tsos chicken, but I still enjoyed it. It had a great flavor to it for sure.

Spicy but good!

This wasn't great, but it was easy to make and tasted pretty good. It didn't taste very much like the Chinese food I am used to ordering, but it had a nice sweet flavor.

This was pretty good! I liked the little bit of kick that the chicken had.

This was great! Delicious, with the perfect amount of spice.
