It's awkward. It's nerdy. And it features alternately endearing and cringe-worthy man-child characters and a culture that viewers have come to know, love and make fun of. It's HBO's tech and startup comedy series Silicon Valley, and its third season premieres on April 24. HBO released a 30-second teaser Thursday that hints at what's in store for Richard and the gang in the upcoming season.

"How do I look?" Richard asks sheepishly, seeking some measure of approval from his eccentric pseudo-mentor as he appears in a white button-down and black blazer, which in Silicon Valley feels out of place if not entirely subversive.

"If I'm being honest, like a ventriloquist dummy," Erlich replies. "If I'm lying, you look like shit."

The teaser goes on to show Richard attempting to gather all the confidence he can muster as he tries to take back the reins of Pied Piper, the company he founded in season one. At a moment when he's channeled his most confrontational glare and gives a threatening ultimatum—back now in the more standard hoodie uniform—he leans on a desk to drive his point home and completely wipes out, slipping on a pile of papers and slamming his face on the tabletop.

Silicon Valley premiered in April 2014 and in its first two seasons was nominated twice for the Golden Globe for best television series (comedy or musical) and garnered a dozen Emmy nominations and two wins. It boasts 94 percent ratings from both critics and audiences on Rotten Tomatoes for its first season and a 100 percent critics' rating for season 2.
