Which fan-fictions will you be reading this Valentine’s Day? If you’re anything like the respondents on a recent movie-themed Fandango survey, you’d like to imagine yourself on a date with Thor and/or Natasha. The survey had only about 1,000 respondents, though, and it’s too late to vote now, since the whole thing seems to have been taken down — too bad, because I would have loved to cast my own votes in this.
It seems to me like most people voted based on the good-looking actors playing these roles rather than the personalities of the fictional characters involved … which is the only possible way that Anastasia Steele could’ve placed fourth in the women’s category. (Is this too mean? She’s essentially a reader stand-in! She doesn’t have a personality! Sigh.)

I don’t understand how neither Poe nor Finn appears in that second list, but I assume it’s because no one could decide on either one of them, which split the entire voting block.
I would pick on these lists further, but it’s not clear whether the nominees came from a provided list or via write-ins or what. We need more transparency in the democratic process!
One more set of Dateability results via Fandago — this was an either/or contest, so at least the terms are more obvious here.

I’m surprised Batman vs. Superman came so close to 50/50 — Batman’s always had the unattainability going for him, though, so it’s no big surprise to see him win. Who wouldn’t want an emotionally unavailable billionaire? I’m also surprised that Wonder Woman beat Harley Quinn … I guess I really don’t know what people want.
