Mackie Monday: Integrity

Reading Time: 2 minutes

I would like to take the opportunity this Mackie Monday to talk about integrity and I want to start by saying we are not perfect. A point well highlighted by my February Mackie Monday actually coming out on the first Tuesday (Thomas Tuesday) in March…Oops!

All joking aside, we are human and from time to time, mistakes will be made and balls will be dropped. In my opinion, you do not have to be perfect to have great integrity; you have to own up to your mistakes and work to resolve them.

Integrity is the quality of being honest and having strong moral principles, which is essential to the continued success of our organization. It is not just avoiding the kinds of situations you read about in the news, but the daily act of keeping our commitments to our suppliers, customers, and each other.

It is a pillar on which we have built our reputation, a reputation you all work hard to earn each day. However, like all reputations, it doesn’t take a lot to damage.

Our ability to retain talented employees and keep loyal customers hinges upon each of us acting with integrity every day. It is all of our jobs to ensure we not only act with integrity, but it is also our duty to the company to report individuals who are not doing so.

We want you to feel comfortable in following the company procedures for reporting any issues, which is to approach your supervisor/management in instances where you believe you have witnessed an event that goes against company policy or standard.

In situations, however, where you prefer to place an anonymous report, the recently launched CES Hotline can be reached either by dialing 1-844-CES-LEAD or visiting cityelectricsupply.ethicspoint.com.

Both services are hosted by a third-party hotline provider: EthicsPoint. The information you provide will be sent to us through EthicsPoint on a totally confidential and anonymous basis, if you should choose.
