See Mark Hamill dress up as a Star Wars Stormtrooper -- again
The last time we saw Mark Hamill in Stormtrooper gear, he was trying to rescue Princess Leia from the Death Star. Now, he's at it again -- this time for charity, and to promote "The Force Awakens."
Mark Hamill -- famous for his role as Luke Skywalker in the original Star Wars trilogy -- has been pretty much absent from the trailers for "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." Could it be because he's joined the Empire?
In a new promotional video for the Star Wars: Force for Change charity initiative on Omaze, Luke is seen putting on some fancy new Stormtrooper armor and heading out for a stroll down Hollywood Boulevard to meet some fans -- and presumably, recruit them to the Imperial Army.
Along the way, he meets fans who say Luke Skywalker is their favorite Star Wars character, and he presumably lets out a smile when he hears that (though we'd have no way of telling under all that armor).
Perhaps Hamill's best response is to a guy who asks if he can wear the Stormtrooper armor to the premiere of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" if he wins the Omaze promotion. Omaze is an experience-based charity site where people donate for the chance to win prizes from major brands.
"Listen, if you want it, you can have it. It's not that comfortable [and] I can't see very well," Hamill quips. Not that the guy would want to wear Hamill's custom armor anyway. The man appears to be a bit taller than Hamill, who as we learned when Luke Skywalker first met Princess Leia on the Death Star, is a little short for a Stormtrooper.
The stunt was part of the Force for Change page on Omaze, where those who give at least $10 (about £7, AU$14) to support the 15 charities selected by the cast and crew of "Star Wars: The Force Awakens" are entered to win one of two trips to the premiere of the movie in either Los Angeles or London. Force for Change is a charity initiative from Disney and Lucasfilm around the upcoming Star Wars trilogy.
"Star Wars: The Force Awakens," the first in that trilogy, lands in theaters on December 17 in the UK and Australia and December 18 in the US.
