Almost everyone has been in a pool at some point in their lives. From zero entry pools to even salt water pools, the sky’s the limit when it comes to pools….Literally… There’s a new type of pool being constructed that’s definitely not for those that are afraid of heights or want some privacy while they take a swim.
Taking Pools To New Heights
How do you feel about a pool that’s suspended 115 feet in the air? Located in London, the world’s first sky pool is expected to be complete in 2019. It will be part of the Embassy Gardens at Nine Elms second phase. The Sky Pool will be located about ten floors up between two, ten story towers. Swimmers will be able to literally swim back and forth from one building to another and can see the road down below because the bottom is transparent. The pool is expected to be 25 meters so there will be plenty of room for swimmers to splash around and swim without it feeling too crowded. There’s a sky deck for swimmers to lounge in the sun after they have enjoyed the pool, or a bar to grab a drink at which makes it the perfect place to go to on a sunny day.
Only Few will Be Able To Enjoy It
If you want to try out the Sky Pool you will probably have to wait long past it’s opening date. The first phase of the Embassy Gardens sold out within a few days and the same is expected of the second phase. The new development includes not only the Sky Pool but 179 suites that will offer guests 1,2,3 bedroom accommodations as well as penthouses. All in all, there will be about 2,000 homes in the community as well as bars, stores, restaurants and a riverfront walk. Residents will also be able to enjoy a yoga studio, gym, boxing ring and their own private cinema, lounge and library.
To enjoy the Sky Pool you will probably have to shell out well over $600,000 to buy one of the residences on the property so you can enjoy the amenities unless you are lucky enough to have a friend or family member that lives there and is willing to invite you over for a swim. Hopefully this innovative pool will pave the way for others to design similar pools that are easily accessible to everyone.
