Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church
Charleston, South Carolina

One week ago today marks the unthinkable tragedy at Mother Emanuel AME Church in Charleston, SC.  The Winkler Group's headquarters is just five miles from this historic place.

In the days since, our community has tried to come to terms with this horrific act while dealing with shock, fear, disbelief, anger, and grief.  We have found ourselves mourning for strangers with whom we now share an unbreakable connection.

As a firm, we are committed to fostering healing for Mother Emanuel AME Church, starting with a financial donation to Mother Emanuel.  We call on all our friends and colleagues in the profession to do the same.  The church's website is

http://www.emanuelamechurch.org/.   This is a moment of solidarity for our city as well as our nation.

We also ask you to join us in praying for the families of the victims.  We ask for prayers for our state and local leaders who will guide us in the days to come.  We pray that once the pain and sorrow have passed, we can begin to heal - and that we find the faith and strength necessary to move forward.

While we still mourn the loss of the nine whose genuine faith has impacted so many, we take some comfort in knowing that their deaths will not be in vain.  Out of evil, good has blossomed and their legacies will never be forgotten.

Just like our beloved Charleston community and our country have rallied together to call for peace and healing, so do we.  This unspeakable act of violence sought to incite hate, but together our community and our nation have stood strong.  We are more united today than ever before.
