I had knee replacement surgery the week before and found this practice using one of those websites for finding doctors in different fields. I was not seeking pain meds since I have been getting them from my surgeon. I also only looked at places with Telehealth services given my lack of mobility. Basically, I just sought a pain expert as an advisor on different non drug methods for dealing with pain.

Everyone I dealt with on the staff was pleasant and helpful. Then I had the misfortune of speaking with Dr Gupta. I described to him my immediate experience after surgery of being deprived of pain meds for five hours by a false claim by a sadistic nurse that my doctor failed to leave an order for the meds. Gupta's response to this was to tell me there is no reason to denigrate anyone. What an ARROGANT MISOGYNIST . How dare he. He is not my father and I am not four years old. His specialty is pain and yet he scolds me for speaking negatively about a person who greatly enhanced and prolonged my pain.

To add insult to injury, both literally and figuratively, he told me that he could not help me without seeing me in person. This despite the facts that I was not seeking meds from him and that the practice advertises Telehealth visits.

I made an appointment online for 8 15am
I arrived on time .
Guess what noone is here and they seem to be closed today.
Will they reimburse for my $26 dollar cab ride ?
Totally unprofessional and my knee pain will go unaddressed an additional day .

I want to start off by saying that Dr Tarwala was incredible and super patient with me! Him and his team have excellent bedside manner and after weeks of physical therapy I'm seeing an improvement in my hip and knee and I hope to continue to see progress.

I'm writing this review since I've had difficulty getting in touch with admin staff there and haven't received a call back after leaving messages.

My experience at this office was nothing short of amazing, The staff is attentive and helpful. Yoany Guzman is incredibly proficient and efficient; my concerns were immediately addressed. I was always kept well informed of my treatment plan. Appointment notifications were emailed promptly reminding me of my upcoming appointments and whenever I called and needed help with anything related to my injury, I was assisted. I would highly recommend and visit again.

Navigating an injury is an unsettling and often scary task. But the Doctors, Physical Therapists, and Staff at NY Bone & Joint, have made that journey into such an easily manageable, calm, and informative path. My experiences with specifically Dr. Mizhiritsky, Dr. Gupta, John & Melanie at the PT office, and the fabulous Yoany have been excellent. Quick, honest and straightforward diagnoses from the amazing Doctors, fine-tuned care and excellent guidance from the PT staff, and on top of that, the great Yoany helping me navigate it all schedule-wise, insurance-wise, and so many other-wises, has made a painful & stressful journey so much more bearable. Can't recommend them more! Thank you NY Bone & Joint for the amazing care & supreme patience you have shown me! My progress managing and healing from this darn herniated disc is due to you!

Yoany Guzman has helped me tremendously. She explained everything to me. Yoany was very knowledgeable and very patient with me. I really loved her Upbeat Attitude. Yoany made me feel welcomed and helped me through my difficult process. I want to say thank you Yoany Guzman for being amazing. We need more human beings like you on this earth. Thank you.

The experience with the doctor was great. Come to find out they were charging my insurance $15k per 5-10 min pelvic floor injection. Just disgusting.

Good front of house staff (Ebony, Michelle, Yoany) made me feel warm and welcomed. Dr. Tarwala and his PA Michelle were efficient and knowledgable and on point for an initial visit. I look forward to returning after my MRI for further consultation.

I called for an appointment with Dr. Shrikhande and was told she doesn't see for the back. I was told I had to see Dr. Mizhiritsky instead. During the time when the appointment was arranged, I stressed to the young lady I wanted to see Dr. Shrikhande because she had wonderful reviews on Yelp. I asked her if Dr. Mizhiritsky too had wonderful reviews and she did not respond, which made me concerned.

I then read everyone's Yelp reviews. Not only were there reviews on how Dr. Shrikhande treated people so well for their back, but it also seemed that when I called requesting to meet with a Dr. with wonderful reviews, their appointment staff had instead passed me onto to a Dr. with horrible reviews thereby giving me selective and poor customer service. Was Dr. Shrikhande too booked to take on another customer? Could I not be on a waiting list? And did she know that people who sought her out were being referred to another Dr.? It also seemed my needs as a potential customer were not of their concern but to pass me to any Dr. they saw fit in order to squeeze in yet another appointment for the practice.

Then, I put a comment on Yelp, thanking everyone for their comments; because of them, I had canceled the appointment I didn't wish to have with Dr. Mizhiritsky in the first place but their office had pushed upon me and thereby saving me a big headache. Suddenly, their office was willing to have me see either Dr.'s.

WHERE BEDSIDE MANNERS GO BEYOND THE BED

I can't be considered too old fashion when I expect anything less than a Norman Rockwell experience when I go to any doctor. I mean with the arm and leg it cost for medical coverage these days we can afford be picky--and not just for the sake of our pockets but for our health.

When I walk into a doctor's office, is feeling repected and taken care too much to ask for?

Not at New York Bone and Joint Specialists. I had knee surgery and I'm so glad I picked this place!

Here the doctor's bedside manners go beyond the bed, they start right at the door. Everyone is affable, caring and patient, appointments are easy to make online or over the phone. Not to mention that they've make good use of NYC's cramed spaces with their nicely decorated facilities that offer that "I'm gonna get better" feel, equipt with onsite xray services, and even physical therapy at their midtown location where you see people working to get better as soon you walk in!

Dr. Leon E. Popovitz, MD is absolutely amazing, Chris and Lynn rock, and I couldn't be more relieved with Angela's poise and patience. Admittingly I was a big baby, and anxious but this is more than surgery, this is my life right?

I thank the team wholeheartedly for those manners that mean so much when people are already dealing with pain... those manners go a long way...beyond the bed. Thanks
