Arizona State's "Salute to Service" game against Oregon is getting a throwback look.

Arizona State unveiled "PT-42" alternate uniforms.

Ahead of Thursday night's game, Adidas and ASU unveiled "PT-42" alternate football uniforms. The design was done in collaboration with ASU, Marie Tillman and the Pat Tillman Foundation.

This will be the first time the Tillman Foundation has worked with ASU to design a uniform. The uniforms pay homage to the look Tillman and the Sun Devils wore during the 1996 season and 1997 Rose Bowl.

Special for these uniforms, the name plates will read "Tillman" for every ASU player. The NCAA granted the school a waiver to use the Tillman name in place of the regular name plates.

“Pat Tillman Foundation and Arizona State University have a proud history of supporting our nation’s veterans and military spouses," Marie Tillman said in a statement. “This special tribute honors Pat’s example as an athlete, scholar and soldier, while raising awareness and academic support for the Tillman Scholars who are carrying on his legacy. We’re grateful to Coach Graham, the players and Adidas for empowering these leaders as they continue their service to our country.”

Tillman, a star with ASU and the Cardinals, left football in 2002 to enlist in the U.S. Army following the Sept. 11 attacks. He lost his life in 2004 while serving in Afghanistan. Tillman's legacy has remained with the ASU football tradition as the team enters the field through the "Tillman Tunnel" and wears a "PT-42" crest on the game uniforms.

These uniforms bring back the traditional Sparky logo to the gold helmets along with a maroon PrimeKnit jersey and gold pants. The camo baselayer was unveiled on Monday and shows Tillman's iconic image on the front and his quote on the back reading, "Passion makes life interesting, ignites our soul, fuels our love, carries our friendships, stimulates our intellect and pushes our limits."

To finish off the look, ASU will wear Kevlar reinforced "Dark Ops" cleats and camo socks.

The ASU team saw the uniforms for the first time on Wednesday with Alex Garwood, Marie Tillman's brother-in-law, speaking to the team.

A portion of the proceeds will go to the Tillman Foundation.
