If Arun Jaitley was involved in DDCA scam and AAP had evidence, why did it wait till CBI raid?

The Aam Aadmi Party claims that the main objective of the CBI raid at Delhi Secretariat was to prevent alleged graft in DDCA during Arun Jaitley's tenure coming to light.

If Arun Jaitley was involved in DDCA scam and AAP had evidence, why did it wait till CBI raid?

New Delhi: The Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) on Thursday accused Finance Minister Arun Jaitley of involvement in corruption in the Delhi and District Cricket Association (DDCA).

This is to be noted that Delhi`s ruling AAP made the accusation two days after the Central Bureau of Investigation (CBI) raided Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal's office building.

The probe agency's action had evoked sharp reaction from Kejriwal who accused it of searching files "unrelated" to the probe against Principal Secretary Rajendra Kumar, and claimed that a file relating to DDCA was scrutinised by it.

The question that now arises is that if the AAP had claimed to have evidences against Arun Jaitley, why did the party stay quiet for so long? Is it a blow for blow reaction, when the AAP was cornered in appointing Rajendra Kumar, an IAS officer, as Principal Secretary when his name had cropped up in certain enquiries.

According to reports, the Indian wing of global anti-corruption watchdog Transparency International had reportedly sent a warning letter in May this year to Kejriwal about alleged corruption involving Kumar.

The AAP today claimed that the main objective of the CBI raid at Delhi Secretariat and taking control of ACB was to prevent alleged graft in DDCA during Arun Jaitley's tenure coming to light.

Raghav Chadha, an AAP spokesperson, today said Jaitley had been running the DDCA like a private club.

The AAP leaders levelled a string of charges against Jaitley, who for years was the DDCA chairman.

Among these, they said a budget of Rs 24 crore was approved to construct a cricket stadium but Rs 114 crore was spent.
