A project that began when a group of friends began keeping a scrapbook featuring photos of their favorite remote cabins has gotten pornographic...

Not in a literal sense, but the photos did inspire a new book - Cabin Porn: Inspiration for Your Quiet Place Somewhere.

Author Zach Klein, who co-founded Vimeo, first created a website of the photos that ended up with more than ten million unique visitors and 350,000 followers on Tumblr.

In addition to photos from the Cabin Porn Tumblr, Klein's book features 'how-to advice for setting up a quiet place somewhere'.

According to the publisher: 'With their idyllic settings, unique architecture and cozy interiors, the Cabin Porn photographs, are an invitation to slow down, take a deep breath, and feel the beauty and serenity that nature and simple construction can create.'

Klein drew on his experience building cabins on a 50-acre site in upstate New York called Beaver Brook to help with the book, Curbed reported.

He explained in an interview how the book differs from the Cabin Porn blog: 'Although the site is prolific, it's fairly one-dimensional.

'Each entry features only an image, brief description, location, and a credit to the submitter.

'Our brevity results from a decision we made a long time ago that we would never make the blog something more than we could maintain ourselves with the time we had on hand. In other words, the format is designed so that we always have enough time to keep it up.

'So many great blogs die because they're too ambitious.

'The trade-off is that over the years, we've missed many opportunities to tell great stories about the people who made these buildings.

'The book was our chance to do that, our reconciliation for the stories we didn't tell. So that's what we made.

'Ten great stories about ten great, handmade places. And hundreds of great images, too, of course.
