Constantine - Legends of Tomorrow Crossover: Will Matt Ryan Join The Upcoming DC Series?

"Constantine" is rumored to crossover in "Legends of Tomorrow."

Bleeding Cool first announced the latest superhero crossover rumor regarding the DC superhero.

British actor Matt Ryan is rumored to reprise his role to become a regular cast member of the upcoming "Legends of Tomorrow." Ryan played the role of John Constantine in the canceled TV adaptation of the comic book anti-hero. NBC canceled the "Constantine" Season 1 early this year after only 13 episodes.

The outlet further shared that Ryan's character will appear in the second season of "Legends of Tomorrow" in 2017.

The upcoming DC adaptation will have to switch cast members who will also tackle different missions every season. It was also said that it will follow the style of the "Justice League Unlimited" animation series.

However, the latest update from Bleeding Cool noted that the "Constantine" news will remain as a rumor for now. The site explained that the production cost might be an issue for this crossover rumor.

"I’m hearing from another well-connected source that the show is incredibly expensive," the outlet said. "They’re not sure if they’ll go with a second season, and instead replace it with a totally different show for it."

Meanwhile, it seems that there is still hope for Ryan's anti-hero role based from the past "Constantine" updates. Ryan previously wore his character's trench coat in a "one-time deal only" crossover event for "Arrow." He appeared in Season 5 Episode "Haunted," which was aired last Nov. 4.

In an interview with Superhero Hype, "Arrow" executive producer Marc Guggenheim praised Ryan and his chemistry with Stephen Amell and other cast members of the "Arrow" TV series.

"We’re just really glad we got the chance to extend Matt Ryan’s run as Constantine by at least one more hour of television. I think you’ll see he fits very neatly into our universe. It never feels forced, it feels right." Guggenheim said.

The latest "Legends of Tomorrow" update also includes the addition of "The Vampire Diaries" actor Steven R. McQueen. The actor is currently being considered to play another DC superhero in "Legends of Tomorrow" Season 2.

Before the premiere of "Legends" of Tomorrow," The CW will air a two-part crossover including "The Flash" episode "Legends of Today" (Dec. 2) and "Arrow" episode "Legends of Yesterday" (Dec. 3).

"Legends of Tomorrow" will air on Thursday, Jan. 21, 2016, on The CW.
