TAMPA, Fla. – Today, Governor Rick Scott highlighted job creation at ReliaQuest, a growing IT security firm with customers worldwide. ReliaQuest is expanding its Corporate Headquarters and Security Operations Center in Tampa which will create 55 new security engineer positions by the end of the year. ReliaQuest currently has 110 employees, and approximately a quarter of its workforce are veterans or active duty military members. Governor Scott also awarded more than 10 ReliaQuest employees with the Governor’s Veterans Service Medal.

Governor Scott said, “ReliaQuest started less than a decade ago with only two employees and it’s exciting that they have already added more than 100 jobs for Tampa families. I’m proud to highlight their expansion today as well as their efforts to employ Florida’s veterans and military members. It is important to support our American heroes here and abroad, and we can never thank them enough for their service. I look forward to seeing the continued success of the team at ReliaQuest as Florida continues to lead the nation in job growth.”

ReliaQuest was recently recognized as one of Tampa Bay's Best Places to Work in 2015, received the Patriot Award for employing Veterans by the Department of Defense, and was named the Small Business of the Year Award in 2014 by the Tampa Chamber of Commerce.

Brian Murphy, CEO of ReliaQuest, said, “ReliaQuest is proud to be headquartered in a state where we can work with the support of our elected officials to grow a company focused on its people while taking on the important challenge of cyber security for the enterprise. It is an honor to have Governor Rick Scott visit our headquarters in Tampa and meet some of our ReliaQuest team members that make security possible everyday. I appreciate the hard work that everyone does across our entire company and look forward to even more growth in the future.”

Bill Johnson, President & CEO of Enterprise Florida, said, “ReliaQuest’s expansion of their Operating Center will result in the creation of 50 new jobs for Tampa, which is great news. More and more Information Technology companies are realizing that Florida has the best business climate for their company to succeed. I look forward to ReliaQuest’s continued success as we work to make Florida the number place for business.”

DEO Executive Director Cissy Proctor said, “ReliaQuest is another great company experiencing incredible growth in Florida’s high-tech I-4 corridor. ReliaQuest has already made an impact on the area’s vibrant tech economy, and its expansion plans will bring new opportunities for Tampa area jobseekers.”

“ReliaQuest had offers from at least three other states and the encouragement of several of their top clients to relocate, but they chose to stay and create more jobs here in Tampa," said Tampa Mayor Bob Buckhorn. “Our high tech workforce is as competitive as that of any other city in the country. They understand that, and that's why they are committed to growing their business in Tampa.”

“ReliaQuest is an outstanding example of the success that Hillsborough County's innovative technology companies are achieving," said Commissioner Sandy Murman, Hillsborough County Board of County Commissioners. "We are proud to support their continued growth and expansion in our community.”

“ReliaQuest's ongoing success speaks well of the vibrant technology community and entrepreneurial culture we have in Tampa and Hillsborough County," said J.P. DuBuque, Interim CEO & President of the Tampa Hillsborough Economic Development Corporation. “They were able to grow quickly from two-person startup to a national leader in their field because of great leadership and the great people they've attracted to their team. The EDC and our state and local partners are committed to making sure that companies like ReliaQuest get the support they need to continue expanding here.”
