Chaosium Inc. continues its restructuring under new owners Moon Design Publications with the hiring of award-winning horror writer James Lowder, who will act as the company’s new Consulting Editor for Fiction.

Lowder has an extensive resume as both a writer and an editor, including managing book lines for TSR, Inc, including Forgotten Realms and Ravenloft, as well as a stint at Green Knight Publishing.  As an author he has written scripts for comic publishers Image, DC, and Devil’s Due, as well as numerous fantasy and horror novels.  His work has been honored with multiple Origins Awards and an ENnie.

In a press release, Chaosium President Rick Meints praised Lowder’s achievements, saying “His strong and long-standing advocacy for creators is one of his greatest strengths.  He knows how to put together a balanced contract and guide projects from start to finish, to the satisfaction of everyone involved.”

In his new role as Consulting Editor, Lowder’s responsibilities will include resolving issues with authors and artists as well as planning and maintaining the company’s series of fiction books, in both print and electronic formats.

Chaosium’s founder Greg Stafford announced the acquisition of Chaosium by Moon Design at Gen Con earlier this summer (see “New Owners at Chaosium”).
