People have been in love with thermal baths since the Romans discovered how much they enjoyed a nice soak in their public baths. Maybe it’s the luxury feel of it or maybe it’s the pampering and relaxation, but people still love and enjoy a hot bath in a thermal spa. And you might think that a regular thermal spa would do, but people these days desire more lavishness. With this idea in mind, developers set about to open the largest thermal spa in Europe in the northern area of Bucharest, the city capital of Romania. And they managed to do so: Therme Bucharest is now the epitome of luxury spas in Europe.

What makes Therme Bucharest so lavish?

The thermal water is pumped from 3,100 meters ( about 10,000 feet) below the surface and it’s used for 8 pools and 16 water slides. It covers 25 hectares and it is spectacular.

The thermal spa in over in Budapest has more pools, yet it’s not quite as impressive as the one in Romania. Other therme in Europe include ones in Portugal, Germany or Iceland to name a few. What makes Therme Bucharest special compared to other therme in Europe is the fact that is has a more modern feel and look to it and it’s more than just a place for a nice, hot soak.
