306 NOUS44 KTSA 012100 PNSTSA ARZ001-002-010-011-019-020-029-OKZ049-053>076-020900- Public Information Statement National Weather Service Tulsa OK 400 PM CDT Wed May 1 2024 ...NWS Damage Survey for 4/27-28/2024 Tornado Event - Update 1... .Update...Updated to include Boynton, Peggs, Crowder, Eufaula, Heavener, and the Alpena tornadoes. .Overview...This includes all tornadoes that NWS Tulsa has confirmed in our County Warning Area from late evening Saturday, April 27th, through the early morning hours of Sunday, April 28th. The final four tornadoes occurred during the evening of April 28th. Many of these were surveyed by our meteorologists. Several occurred in areas inaccessible by road, but were confirmed by photo or video. In addition to these tornadoes, we also surveyed areas of suspected tornadoes. Damage near Leach, Oklahoma, and Sulphur Springs, Arkansas was not consistent with tornado damage. .HOLDENVILLE / BEARDEN OKLAHOMA TORNADO SEGMENT... Rating: EF3 Estimated Peak Wind: 135 to 145 mph Path Length /statute/: 7.4 miles Path Width /maximum/: 1100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/27/2024 Start Time: 11:04 PM CDT Start Location: 4 SSE Bearden / Okfuskee County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.2904 / -96.3628 End Date: 04/27/2024 End Time: 11:15 PM CDT End Location: 3 S Okemah / Okfuskee County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.3884 / -96.3111 Survey Summary: This strong tornado moved north-northeast from Hughes County, crossing into Okfuskee County between the N3730 and N3740 Roads. A home was destroyed just north of the county line. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted, and numerous power poles were blown down through the E1170 Road, then it moved into the Bearden Oil and Gas Field, where road access was very minimal. Two high tension metal pole structures were blown down in this area, just south of the E1160 Road and east of the N3740 Road. The tornado continued to move north-northeast severely damaging a home and snapping numerous trees along the N3760 Road, before dissipating south of the E1110 Road and west of Highway 27. .MORRIS OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 105 to 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 11.3 miles Path Width /maximum/: 1400 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 12:01 AM CDT Start Location: 2 W Schulter / Okmulgee County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.5205 / -95.9962 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 12:14 AM CDT End Location: 1 N Morris / Okmulgee County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.6285 / -95.8586 Survey Summary: This tornado developed west of Schulter and moved northeast across Highway 75 and the Deep Fork National Wildlife Refuge. It widened and strengthened as it moved across the E1000 Road, where numerous trees were uprooted or snapped. The tornado continued to widen as it approached Morris. Numerous homes and businesses were damaged in Morris, then the tornado turned to the north and dissipated about a mile north of town. .MORRIS OKLAHOMA TORNADO 2... The tornado widened, and turned north-northeast just north of the E930 Road, and then turned northeast near the E910 Road, and dissipated east of the N4080 Road. Numerous trees were snapped or uprooted, numerous power poles were snapped, several homes were damaged, and several outbuildings were destroyed along the path of this tornado. .BOYNTON OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 95 to 105 mph Path Length /statute/: 6.2 miles Path Width /maximum/: 800 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 12:28 AM CDT Start Location: 4 SW Jamesville / Muskogee County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.7068 / -95.6817 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 12:35 AM CDT End Location: 2 ENE Jamesville / Muskogee County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.7703 / -95.6051 Survey Summary: This tornado developed south of W 33rd St S and west of N 194th St W, and moved northeast crossing Highway 62 near the intersection of Highway 16. It dissipated near the Arkansas River. The tornado uprooted trees and snapped large tree limbs. The damage was surveyed by Muskogee County Emergency Management. .PORTER OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF1 Estimated Peak Wind: 100 to 110 mph Path Length /statute/: 9.8 miles Path Width /maximum/: 750 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 12:40 AM CDT Start Location: 2 ESE Choska / Wagoner County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.8232 / -95.5798 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 12:52 AM CDT End Location: 5 NE Porter / Wagoner County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.9128 / -95.4528 Survey Summary: This tornado developed southwest of Porter and moved northeast to near the intersection of South 429th East Avenue and East 211 Street South Avenue before turning north-northeast and crossing over the Muskogee Turnpike. The tornado dissipated after crossing the Verdigris River. The tornado damaged the roof of a home, destroyed a small outbuilding and uprooted and snapped trees along its path. .WAGONER OKLAHOMA TORNADO... The tornado snapped and uprooted trees along its path. .CROWDER OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF-unknown Estimated Peak Wind: unknown Path Length /statute/: 2.0 miles Path Width /maximum/: 100 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 05:23 PM CDT Start Location: 3 SSW Crowder / Pittsburg County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.0776 / -95.6831 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 05:26 PM CDT End Location: 2 SSE Crowder / Pittsburg County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.0997 / -95.6602 Survey Summary: This tornado developed and moved across Lake Eufaula from the south-southwest to the south-southeast of Crowder. Many videos and photos were taken of this tornado. It was rated EF-unknown as it remained over water, resulting in no damage to be assessed. Path length and maximum width are estimated. .EUFAULA OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF-unknown Estimated Peak Wind: unknown Path Length /statute/: 1.3 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 06:50 PM CDT Start Location: 3 NNW Eufaula / McIntosh County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 35.3359 / -95.5943 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 06:51 PM CDT End Location: 4 N Eufaula / McIntosh County / OK End Lat/Lon: 35.3446 / -95.5735 Survey Summary: This tornado was reported by a spotter who observed a brief tornado over Lake Eufaula, to the north of Eufaula. Path information is estimated based on that information and radar data. .HEAVENER OKLAHOMA TORNADO... Rating: EF0 Estimated Peak Wind: 75 to 80 mph Path Length /statute/: 4.3 miles Path Width /maximum/: 200 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 08:01 PM CDT Start Location: 1 E Hodgen / Le Flore County / OK Start Lat/Lon: 34.8428 / -94.6142 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 08:10 PM CDT End Location: 3 ESE Heavener / Le Flore County / OK End Lat/Lon: 34.865 / -94.5426 Survey Summary: This tornado was observed by storm chasers. It developed south of Heavener and moved east, dissipating southeast of Heavener. The only damage that could be found within its likely path was snapped tree limbs. Much of the path information is estimated based on chaser accounts and radar data. .ALPENA ARKANSAS TORNADO... Rating: EF-unknown Estimated Peak Wind: unknown Path Length /statute/: 2.1 miles Path Width /maximum/: 75 yards Fatalities: 0 Injuries: 0 Start Date: 04/28/2024 Start Time: 10:15 PM CDT Start Location: 3 NE Osage / Carroll County / AR Start Lat/Lon: 36.2144 / -93.3665 End Date: 04/28/2024 End Time: 10:19 PM CDT End Location: 2 SW Carrollton / Carroll County / AR End Lat/Lon: 36.2395 / -93.3454 Survey Summary: This tornado was recorded by a KNWA tower cam, with time stamps provided by KNWA to us. The location was estimated based on radar data for the period of time the tornado occurred in the video recording.
