Tom Cruise is unloading two of his Los Angeles properties - his Hollywood Hills spread and his Beverly Hills mansion.

And on Wednesday UsWeekly claimed to know why the 53-year-old silver screen veteran is packing his bags.

'Tom hates living in LA and is relocating to Florida,' a source said. 'He thinks all the people in Hollywood are fake.'

The insider added that the Mission: Impossible - Rogue Nation star also wants to be closer to the Scientology headquarters in Clearwater, Florida.

And it was fellow Scientologist John Travolta who got the Top Gun star interested in the state, the publication alleged.

'John loves life there,' said a source. 'He inspired Tom.'

The insider also said that Cruise is 'ready to go.'

The action star was born as Thomas Cruise Mapother IV in Syracuse, New York, which is very different from the fast-paced LA.

He is the son of Mary Lee (née Pfeiffer), a special education teacher, and Thomas Cruise Mapother III, an electrical engineer.

The Edge Of Tomorrow actor has three sisters, Lee Anne, Marian, and Cass.

The Oscar nominee has been in Los Angeles since a teenager, when his acting career began. Tom's first film was 1981's Endless Love with Brooke Shields.

Though he owns a 300-acre ranch in Telluride, Colorado, which has also been listed, he has for the most part spent most of his adult life in Los Angeles.

On Tuesday Variety reported Tom listed the Beverly Hills home he bought with third wife Katie Holmes.

He's asking for a whopping $50 million. 

The movie legend and his Dawson's Creek ex shelled out just $30.5 million for the property in April 2007, according to Variety.

The gray stone clad mansion has seven bedrooms and nine bathrooms and sits on 1.3 acres at the end of a long, gated driveway.

The main residence of 10,000 square feet has multiple wings and the heavily fortified property also has two guest houses.

It boasts a swimming pool, lighted tennis court, large fountain in the front motor court and a children's playground. 

In March, a European-style estate on 2.75 acres in the Hollywood Hills was put on the market at just under $13 million though the asking price has since been reduced by $1 million to $11,995,000.

In 2013, Cruise sold his New York City condo in the American Felt building for $3 million.

Cruise, who was previously married to actresses Mimi Rogers and Nicole Kidman, wed Holmes in a lavish ceremony in Italy in 2006.

It followed whirlwind romance in which the couple earned the sobriquet TomKat.

In June, 2012, the actress, mother to daughter Suri, filed for divorce in a move that apparently blindsided the Mission: Impossible megastar.

The divorce was finalized within two months.

The actor and producer is estimated to be worth $470 million, according to the Celebrity Net Worth website.
