As DailyMail.com exclusively revealed, her mom Michelle Duggar called 911 after the midwife became concerned about Jessa at the end of a 48-hour labor and delivery.

Now it's been revealed by People magazine that the 23-year-old had to spend a night in the hospital missing out on those precious first minutes with her newborn.

In the initial stages of labor, the pain was so bad that the reality star almost gave up on having a natural birth.

'Labor is hard,' she told People. 'It was very intense, very long. Everything was different than I expected.'

After 10 hours of contractions, she asked to be taken to hospital to get an epidural.

'They asked me if I really wanted to do that and I said, 'No, I don't, but I do.' I wanted to try natural if at all possible,' she said.
