As GOP-front runner Donald Trump chases the Republican presidential nomination, anti-Trump hats appear to be outselling the mogul’s ‘Make America Great Again’ products, according to New Jersey-based Unionwear, which has long produced political hats during each election cycle.

Earlier this month the anti-Trump campaign reached an all-time high after The Week Tonight host John Oliver revealed that the Trump ancestral name was actually Drumpf – and encouraged social media users to readdress the mogul with his rightful name.

Carrying the #MakeDonaldDrumpfAgain call to action, caps parodying Trump’s ‘Make America Great Again’ mantra were produced, including by HBO, which airs The Week Tonight.

Mitch Cahn, president of the Unionwear hat maker, told NJ.com that sales of the parody hat are out-pacing those they are based upon.

On HBO’s success with the product, he said: “They put it on their website as a joke and sold way more than they expected."

He added: "There was really no way before the internet for these campaigns to sell their merchandise, it's not like they could have travelling stores everywhere they campaigned."

The Drumpf phenomena also encouraged the DeepDrumpf bot, a deep-learning neural network trained on Donald Trump transcripts. In actuality the tweets forwarded by the AI are very reminiscent of Donald’s controversial social media presence.
