Stop making us catch feelings, Chicago Blackhawks.
You’re supposed to be this evil, heartless, win-at-all-costs, business-first dynasty. So why must you insist on making us root for you with these wonderful community surprises?
Last month it was Corey Crawford’s adventure in babysitting.
Today, it’s head coach Joel Quenneville driving to the Chicago suburb of Park Ridge, Ill., and thrilling the in-shape seniors of Centennial Activity Center.
Jennifer, who manages the centre, wished to bring the elderly puckheads to a Hawks home game as part of the club’s #WhatsYourGoal campaign.
“Since they’re so active,” Quenneville says, “I’m going to bring the game to them. They have no idea what we’re bringing.”
Jenny’s goal was to bring senior citizens to a home game.
Coach Q brought the game to them instead. #WhatsYourGoalhttps://t.co/lSmsejwZXD

Hosting a shinny game that of course comes down to next-goal-wins, referee Q calls on mascot Tommy Hawk, assistants Mike Kitchen and Kevin Dineen, plus an organist and commentator to give the oldies all the United Center goodies.
“She’s gonna be our goal-scorer today. Elanor — our go-to girl,” pipes a decidedly un-grumpy Quenneville. “We’re calling this ‘old-time hockey.’ “
