The Division update looks to make the Dark Zone a deadlier place

UPDATE ONE: The Division update on Xbox One, PS4 and PC has introduced the many changes Ubisoft promised to fans to help improve the overall PvP experience of the Dark Zone.

The tweaks won't be on the same scale as the first free update that will add the Incursion PvE event in April, however fans will be pleased to hear that the loot and rewards have seen a decent boost.

The Dark Zone funds and experience points on offer for hunting down Rogue agents has been upgraded, as well as the chancey choice of outliving your own wanted Rogue timer.

Players can also expect to see less losses after dying in the Dark Zone, while downed agents will also start to drop ammo and consumable items, although the deceased players doesn't see it come out of their own loot.

It's all in a bid to make the Dark Zone a more dangerous place for lone wolves and a more rewarding arena for those hoping to ambush.

An official description from Ubisoft reads: "In the Dark Zone, players can fast travel to checkpoints, but only from outside the Dark Zone and players killed in the Dark Zone will now drop ammo, medkits, and grenades (which will not be taken from the killed player’s inventory).

Big Dark Zone changes include:

  • Players killed in the Dark Zone will lose less Dark Zone Funds and Experience (Rogue and non-Rogue)
  • Dark Zone Funds and Experience rewards for surviving Rogue status have been improved
  • Dark Zone Funds and Experience rewards for killing Rogue agents have been improved

Another big change will be that players can now heal other neutral players in the Dark zone, by using First Aid and Support Station skills.

The Division update from Ubisoft will also patch some loopholes found by fans to harvest some of the best gear in the open world.

Fans will no longer be able to repeatedly kill a named enemy in a short span of time, Ubisoft has fixed this by removing the character respawning.
