Event Report

We had a good turnout of about 30 people at the front parking lot of the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency in Springfield, Oregon. There were 12 EVs displayed, 11 different models, so we had quite a variety for folks to enjoy. Total EV miles represented was 130,491.
Two Oregon legislators joined us: Oregon State Representative Phil Barnhart (strong EV ambassador and owner since 2012, driving about 150 round trip miles each day from Eugene to Salem and return during the 2013, 2014 and 2015 legislative sessions) and Oregon State Representative Nancy Nathanson (not yet an EV owner, but a consistently strong supporter of EV incentives, alternative transportation
Several participants were interested in a monthly EV event in the Eugene-Springfield area, and followed up with a planning session at the nearby Abbey brewery to put together details for October. Stay tuned!

Event Description

Merlyn Hough, Director of the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency, invites you to join him for coffee and to chat about anything EV!

Electric vehicles owners and anyone interested in learning about electric vehicles are invited to check out the two workplace chargers at the Lane Regional Air Protection Agency office and discuss the West Coast Electric Highway and where good additional locations would be in Lane County, the Multi-State (including Oregon!) Zero-Emission-Vehicle Action Plan, etc.

We'll have several models of electric vehicles on hand, plus coffee, EV info and local EV owners to share their experience driving electric. EWEB will have information on their latest EV incentive programs.

We also held a "practice" event on Monday, September 14th from 10:00 am to 11:00 am. See the photo above.  It was great fun, excellent information exchange, and a nice variety of electric vehicles (Fiat 500e, Ford Focus Electric, Tesla Model S). We hope to have one or more Leafs, Volts and Mitsubishi iMievs on Friday!
