Traveling Ted is a blog that takes readers along on my adventures hiking, canoeing, skiing, and international backpacking. Many blogs focus on one aspect of backpacking, but I tackle both the outdoor adventure side and international exploration as well.

Cholula Pyramid Puebla Mexico

The church on top of the Great Pyramid of Cholula

The Great Pyramid of Cholula near Puebla, Mexico has a beautiful church on top. On clear days one can get great glimpses of the volcano Popocatepetl, but this was not one of those clear days. Another great shot is getting the pyramid and the church framed with the volcano in the background, but that was obviously not possible on this day.

Therefore, I was content in taking a picture of the church on top. The temple is believed to be dedicated to the god Quetzalcoatl and closely linked to Teotihuacan.

Cholula is located about a 15 minute drive from Puebla. A bus or a taxi would be the best way to get here.
