As expected, Sony has unveiled the successor to the mirrorless Alpha A6000 with a similar design language. Though the two cameras share many physical aesthetics, Sony has done a lot to create a worthy successor. The new Sony A6300

 packs a 24.2-megapixel sensor, shoots 4K footage. The A6300 uses 425 phase-detection autofocus points, allowing it to focus in as little as 0.05 seconds

Sony isn’t likely to release many products that somehow don’t utilize 4K – and the A6300 is no different. To that end, the A6300 can also record

 4K at a bitrate of up to 100 Mbps. It will shoot 1080p video at 120 frames per second, allowing for super slow motion. The new camera will also allow S-Log gamma recording 

The Sony A6300 will cost $1,000 ($1,150 with a 16-50mm kit lens) when it goes on sale in March. I’ll have more details on the camera later in the day.
