In mid-November, we quietly started to provide deans and campus technology leaders a first look at GradeHub at colleges and universities throughout Southern California – getting feedback and making refinements. Institutions, large and small, are interested in showing GradeHub to faculty. I’m thankful, we’re off to a great start.
Deans have been excited to help faculty with a new, easy to use grading tool; instructional technology directors have made comments like “wow;” and professors see how we’ve improved feedback with little change to the testing process they trust and prefer.
After six months of programming, numerous team meetings at odd hours, and dozens of interactions with educators, here’s the first glimpse of GradeHub.

Slide 1 – I’m Mark, and thanks for signing up for GradeHub.
Slide 2 – GradeHub allows you to use your paper tests and answer sheets, so your transition to online testing is effortless.
Slide 3 – To start, click on the add class button
Slide 4 – Next it’s time to create a roster. Select the course you’ve just added, click the add roster button toward the bottom right of the screen.
Add a roster in one of two ways; by asking students to join using a GradeHub Class ID or by uploading a roster from your gradebook. Check out our support site if you need help.
Slide 5 – Next you add a test, and it’s a snap. We alert students automatically that their personalized answer sheet is in their portal.
Slide 6 – Instead of buying answer sheets from the bookstore, students conveniently print answer sheets from their GradeHub portal. Hand out your exams; once students finish, collect their answer sheets just like you would with scantrons. Oh, and make sure all of the answer sheets have the black brackets in each corner.
Slide 7 – Simply use any scanner to scan your answer sheets – at home, at school, or in your office.
Slide 8 – And make sure you use the correct setting. GradeHub requires scanned at 200 dpi, black and white, and using 8 1/2 x 11 or US letter format.
Slide 9 – Now you’re done with testing, it’s time to grade your test. Select the test you want to grade, and follow the grading steps.
Slide 10 -The first step is to add a key. With GradeHub, you create and update your test key online. If you make a mistake, you can update the key here and we’ll re-score everything for you
Slide 11 – Once you scanned your test, you simply drag or choose the file to upload it to GradeHub.
Slide 12 – Since we have digitized the answer sheets, any error correction can be done in your portal. We provide snippets from student responses for you to confirm what GradeHub thinks.
Slide 13 – The last step is for you to review results, GradeHub summarizes results automatically, it also transforms your grades to a standard, curve, or custom scale.
Slide 14 – Now that you’re done grading, we present you a variety of elegant reports: such as a test overview, item analysis, and student response report.
Slide 15 – GradeHub keeps your students in the loop too.
Slide 16 – With GradeHub, you get a simple, intuitive grading platform in the cloud, no proprietary test scanners and answer sheets, and powerful reports built right into your account – all accessible instantly via Web, iPhone, and Android.
