Good News, Ultra Street Fighter IV Fans! Some PS3 Fight Sticks Will Work On PS4

by Mike Futter on May 22, 2015 at 04:58 AM

If you are a Street Fighter IV player who has been on board since the game launched on PlayStation 3 last generation, there’s some good news. If you splurged on a licensed fight pad or stick, you’ll be able to use that when the game arrives on PlayStation 4.

Full details aren’t available yet, nor is a list of compatible devices. Sony suggests checking in with Capcom and Lab Zero (responsible for the drivers) after the May 26 release.

Ultra Street Fighter IV will arrive on PlayStation 4 next week. Capcom says the game is running at 1080p and 60 frames per second. The input lag you may have noticed in the last-gen version has also been scrubbed away.

Our Take
One of the most painful parts of upgrading to a new generation of console is the hit your wallet takes on peripherals. By the end of last-generation, I had everything I could possibly need for any type of game.

Starting from scratch can be expensive, and steps like this to make older peripherals work on new hardware is appreciated. The only downside here is that there won’t be a complete guide to getting older fight sticks up and running before launch.
