PTNY’s Director of Programs and Policy Fran Gotcsik has recently been talking trails from one end of the state to the other. Fran reviewed issues and opportunities for NYS trails at the 75thanniversary conference of the New York State Association of Transportation Engineers in Hauppauge on Long Island and then traveled to Niagara Falls to discuss strategies for taking trail projects from vision to reality for the 47th annual International Snowmobile Congress.

Albany County Rail Trail Summer Solstice Festival & Hike-A-Thon

Project Coordinator James Meerdink and his twin daughters represented PTNY at the Summer Solstice Festival & Hike-A-Thon is organized by The Mohawk Hudson Land Conservancyand its Friends of the Rail Trail (FORT). This annual festival is held along the Albany County Helderberg Hudson Rail Trail to raise awareness of the trail that will soon provide a safe, off-road passage from the Village of Voorheesville to the South End of the City of Albany.
