Cait from Little City Farmhouse gave this bed frame bold new style by painting it entirely in Pocket Watch metallic cream!
Hello! I am back with a project using one of my all time favourite Country Chic products! Metallic Cream in Pocket Watch! I love gold!

It’s no secret that I adore this product. So when I was asked by a sweet client of mine to refinish her daughter’s bed in gold I was all over it! I have a couple really helpful suggestions when using this product that I would love to share with you!
This bed started out as a medium to light wood tone, so I knew the gold would cover well. If you have a previously painted piece that is dark, or a dark wood tone, start out by putting a coat of paint in a shade such as Creme Brûlée! This will ensure easier coverage and less coats!
The Metallic Creams also have a slight shimmer to them, which is absolutely gorgeous! When painting a flat surface I like to make sure that all my brush strokes end up going the same direction to create an even surface with no lines! Sanding dulls the bright sparkly finish so you want to make sure that your strokes are even!
I like to start with a light coat and then when that is really fully dried I layer the metallic cream on with a medium to thick layer. This bed required 4 coats to achieve the finish I was after!

I think it’s absolutely brilliant and such a royal bed for a lovely little lady!
