2014 was the first year of the Aberdeen Film Festival – Aberdeen’s first annual international film festival. From an extremely small team and very limited funding we brought 30 screenings of features and short films from around the world to the north-east of Scotland.
This year we currently have no funding. Zero.
That’s where you come in.
We need your help to bring our revised six day festival together.
This will cover the costs of venue hire, equipment, printing and advertising.
We have recently partnered with local homelessness charity the Aberdeen Cyrenians who will receive a contribution from each ticket sale at all our screenings.
We have also launched a short-film contest for young filmmakers to create a three-minute film on the subject of homelessness.
We are run completely by volunteers and driven by our passion and enthusiasm for film and want to bring that to the citizens of Aberdeen and the people of Scotland by supporting local filmmakers and culture in the area.
