Description
The Taftsville covered bridge was my first Vermont covered bridge and I keep coming back to find its best side. It wasn't until it was almost destroyed by Irene and rebuilt that I began to find good views of it.
Almost like a phoenix rising. This is a view from this autumn. To get to this Vermont covered bridge, you can jump off I-89 (no literally) and take Route 4 towards Woodstock. Then you can cross the Quechee gorge and keep your eyes open on the right because there is a little spur side road that takes you down and across the Taftsville covered bridge. I think the best views are from the far side of the bridge in both autumn and winter. Check my covered bridge gallery to see it in winter.
