Pests can overrun your home in no time. Follow these home remedies to eliminate pest problems from your house and yard.

Start at the source. Preventative measures are the best way to avoid unwanted pests in your home. Remember to wipe down all your kitchen surfaces. Removing excess food particles and odors will help decrease your pest traffic. You can avoid using harsh chemicals by making your own all-purpose cleaning spray. Combine two tablespoons of liquid peppermint castile soap and one gallon of water.

Transfer food into sealed jars and fix any leaky faucets. Cutting off the food and water supply will make your home less attractive to unwanted guests.

To eliminate ant traffic, sprinkle coffee grounds around windows and doors. Spiders can be kept at bay by combining equal parts vinegar and water, then spraying the mixture over the places the spiders are entering. Fight fruit flies with apple cider vinegar! The sweet smell of the vinegar will attract the flies. Place a couple tablespoons of vinegar in a cup, cover the top with plastic wrap and poke holes in the plastic.

You don't need harsh toxins to eliminate unwanted pests. Try these easy DIY remedies to keep your home pest- and chemical-free.
