If you attend the Met Gala on Monday and don’t take a selfie inside the party, were you even there at all? This year’s starry list of attendees is about to find out. “Page Six” is reporting that guests received a warning along with their invites that “The use of phones for photography and social media will not be permitted inside the gala.” According to the column’s source, “It has solely to do with guests’ security and enjoyment of the event.”

So, celebrities, be forewarned: If you have this thing with the Met museum’s floors, or get the urge to snap a shoefie, or simply want to document Reese Witherspoon’s marital advice, you’re out of luck. That said, there will still be plenty of documentation of the night, via a Vogue film crew that is making China: Through the Looking Glass, a documentary about the Met show.
