Powerful dude! Thank you.
You know the dangers of the dark side of the force. That is the path that leads to the emperor. But what you may not know, are the dangers of the light side...
Because that path can lead to mediocrity.
Sometimes we’re so worried about meeting the expectations of society, not offending anyone, or following the norm that what we create is pabulum. Making something amazing isn’t done taking the safe, predictable or easy route.
I will never forget the moment at 1 am in 1988 when I was watching Headbangers Ball and this video came on. I knew rock'n roll would never be the same again.
Genius like this doesn’t come from playing nice.
Think of the boldness of Steve Jobs launching the iPad in the manner he did. Do you really understand what a crazy idea Amazon.com was? The sheer audacity of Uber? Breakthroughs like these don’t come from playing safe.
There’s jazz dancing, then there’s the choreography of Sonya Tayeh.
Sonya's work comes from a dark place, but ultimately it creates light.
Sometimes to create something amazing, we have to dance with the dark side. Push the envelope, take the chance, risk failure ridicule and even condemnation.
Don’t be afraid to get dirty, get gritty, and tiptoe toward the dark side. Cause that’s where the breakthroughs live.

Powerful dude! Thank you.
Interesting point you make here RG.. In fact if you've ever read Steve Pressfield's "The War of Art", he makes a very strong point of the 'insidious force' called resistance and the role it plays in the lives of everyone. And it's to this that we're developing a transmedia franchise in order to illuminate the dark force that holds us back. While not sci fi like Star Wars, the 'dark' element continually morphs just as it does in real life. But as we all know, the yin/yang exists in all things God created, and therefore without the dark we don't have the light!
Right! Just don't cross the line and become unethical towards yourself and others.
incredible Randy, Im just walking on that road with out knowing that I need it to wake up and pass true...
I love how you used Sweet Child O Mine to illustrate your point!
Randy...i recently changed all my social media profiles. Attached is the sample. It's not safe. But it's what I like. It's me. As you say I m not here to conform and agree with all and everything.
Hersh Bhardwaj I think they look great!
Matt Shorty Wells It was actually supposed to be "Welcome to the Jungle," but the point was the same so I left it.
I think what makes the dark side powerful is resistance. Too many people resist this part of themselves and when they witness others embracing the dark side with open arms, they are intrigued or even attracted. Nonetheless, great job in explaining the significance of the dark side or as Jung would call it, "shadow."
When you take the opposite direction, against the crowed, there you can find the breakthroughs.
Sometimes it means to go through the dark side in order to make a breakthrough that will bring the light.
Randy_Gage Thanks Randy! Appreciate that.
Dancing with the dark side. Anyone hear about resurfacing engines with ceramics. This is crazy!
Talya Mitzafon I agree totally, and the light will be proportionately as bright, as the dark was dark. It's human alchemy.
This post scares me - evokes me - challenges me -"dare's me" - beckon's me - excites me - invigorates me - touches my soul.. it educates me - and enlivens me. #Wowfactor
I receive this.. quite raw and real. Thankyou.RG!
