A man who works almost 80 hours a week has documented his life in a short video to show his monotonous daily routine as he makes a life for himself in Tokyo.

From Monday to Saturday, 'Stu in Tokyo' films himself waking up, walking to work, returning home and going to bed, usually after a 13 or 14 hour working day.

Calling himself a Japanese salaryman, YouTube blogger Stu explains his so-called 'busy season' at work requires him to work almost round the clock.

On his video, which has clocked up almost 250,000 views in two days, Stu explains: "January to the end of March is our 'busy season' at work, which means that for these 3 months, my life is basically like this.

"There are definitely people in Tokyo who do this all year round in order to support their families. I couldn't imagine having to do this if I had those kinds of responsibilities as well."

Japanese Salarymen typically work for large corporations for a set salary, and are known for having jobs with long hours, with their lives revolving around their work.

A typical day for Stu begins at 7.30am as he gets up, showers, eats breakfast and heads to work for 9.30am.

But despite getting to work in the early morning, Stu consistently leaves the office after 11pm, leaving him very little time to have something to eat, fit in a quick workout and a shower before heading to bed.

After totalling up his hours, he found that while he was in work for 78 hours in six days, he only managed to get a measly 35 hours of sleep.

But despite his gruelling daily routine, Stu remains postive.

He said: "Challenges in life only make you stronger, and right now I'm levelling up on the daily!"
