Gradle 2.6-rc-1 is now available for testing

The Gradle team is pleased to announce the availability of the first release candidate for Gradle 2.6.

This release introduces Gradle support for developing applications on the Play framework, including application reload functionality built on top of the continuous build support featured in Gradle 2.5. Also new in this release is the “Gradle TestKit”, providing an official mechanism for testing Gradle plugins.

In addition to these major features, Gradle continues to improve with a variety of small improvements and bug fixes. Please check the release notes for more information.

Downloads and wrapper usage instructions are available at http://gradle.org/release-candidate. Please try Gradle 2.6-rc-1 with your projects and report any problems.

Everything fine with Gradle 2.6-rc-1 and the usual three projects.

Thanks for always testing things so promptly, Jörn.

No problem.
It’s always a bit disappointing when everything works as expected.

I noticed that net.sourceforge.pmd:pmd-java:5.2.3 is a new dependency but it’s not listed in the release notes. I built a random assortment of projects and they seemed to behave.
