Part-time Accountant

New Internationalist is looking for a part-time, qualified accountant, to work closely with the New Internationalist Senior Bookkeeper. Whilst the Senior Bookkeeper is responsible for recording and maintaining all the financial transactions of New Internationalist Co-operative Ltd. (and its subsidiaries New Internationalist Publications Ltd. and Myriad Editions Ltd.), the Accountant will be responsible for financial oversight.

The role will include tasks such as submitting VAT returns and production of management accounts. S/he will help co-op colleagues to make informed and prudent decisions and provide input into business decisions.

We welcome applications from suitable candidates who could either be working as PAYE or on a self-employed basis.

Senior Bookkeeper

New Internationalist is looking to appoint an organised and experienced bookkeeper to work closely with an accountant. The Senior Bookkeeper will be responsible for recording and maintaining the financial transactions of New Internationalist Co-operative Ltd. and its subsidiaries New Internationalist Publications Ltd. and Myriad Editions Ltd.

This is a varied role and the ideal candidate will have strong knowledge of both QuickBooks and Xero, and be familiar with at least one of New Internationalist’s core business activities; magazine subscriptions, online retail, publishing and/or third sector bookkeeping. There will be an opportunity to streamline processes and to introduce more effective methods of working.
