This panorama shows the Milky Way arching over a little-traveled highway in the high desert of central Oregon, near Millican Valley. The densest part of the Milky Way, the central region of our spiral galaxy (some 27,000 light years away), is at far right. The bright star at top center is Vega. Note that the red glow at left (north) is the aurora borealis. Panorama consists of 14 photos taken on April 16, 2015.
