5 Great Gluten-Free Breads Even Gluten Eaters Will Love

For many people, the most difficult aspect of going gluten-free is saying goodbye to bread. The stretchy, sticky proteins in gluten give bread its wonderful elasticity. But if you are giving up gluten, don't despair! There are plenty of truly delicious and texturally satisfying gluten-free breads out there nowadays. And they are no longer hard to find. Many are now widely available on the shelves of just about every major supermarket. If you're in the market, here are five brands you should definitely know about.

Glutino
Glutino produces a wide variety of gluten-free products, and they also make four varieties of bread: flax seed bread, harvest corn, fiber bread, and cinnamon raisin. These breads don't contain preservatives, so make sure you freeze them after opening.

Udi's
Udi's Gluten-Free Foods produces five different breads, whole grain, white, millet-chia, omega-flax, and fiber, and they're largely tapioca and brown rice-based. They have a legion of devoted followers, and are available in most grocery stores as well as online.

Rudi's
Not to be confused with Udi's, Rudi's sells three different bread varieties, original, multi-grain, and cinnamon raisin. (Rudi's also sells non-gluten-free breads, but those are made on separate equipment and on different production days.)

Canyon Bakehouse
Available at most Target locations, Canyon Bakehouse makes white, deli-style rye, seven-grain, and cinnamon raisin gluten-free bread. These breads can also be purchased online at Canyon Bakehouse's website.

Ener-G
Ener-G produces a whopping 18 styles of bread, including white, high fiber, and flax seed. Many of their breads are also available in brown rice and egg-free varieties. They're available at an increasing number of supermarkets, and can also be ordered online.
