Originally from Pennsylvania but a beach bum at heart, Sean loves the freedom to work as a traveler in South Florida. He is now on his second assignment with American Traveler and is enjoying every minute of it. His suggestion to new travelers is that they spend their work-free days being a tourist and making the most of their location. In short, live like you’re on vacation!

Sean: My recommendation is to enjoy your assignment and you should just treat it like a vacation. You work three days a week as a nurse, three twelves; if you’re lucky you get some overtime. On those days off just be a tourist and enjoy everything around you. My favorite thing to do down here in Florida is to go to the beach. I enjoy going down to South Beach, Fort Lauderdale; it’s beautiful. There’s always something to do in South Florida.
My mom always said if I had a second life I would be a beach bum. I love the white sandy beaches, the clear water. It’s like living a vacation.
