AMC Orders 2 Seasons Of The Walking Dead Prequel

WalkingDeadAMC has decided to move forward with the untilted Walking Dead prequel series in a big way. The pilot, going by the codename Cobalt, has been ordered to series and already given a second season renewal. The first season will consist of 6 episodes premiering in the late summer with a second season slated for 2016.

The Walking Dead creator Robert Kirkman co-wrote the pilot with Dave Erickson (Sons of Anarchy). Though AMC has been very tight-lipped about the premise, THR believes that the series will be a prequel set in Los Angeles at the time of the outbreak. AMC has confirmed the Los Angeles part but said little else other than it will focus on new characters and storylines.
