Scenes of total desolation and despair awaited visitors who had paid £20 a ticket for the Magical Winterland in Harrogate – with miserable reindeer at the end of a rubbish-strewn hallway.

The ‘Christmas market’ had just four stalls.

The Magical Winterland promised ‘fantastic features’ and an opportunity to ‘lose yourself’ – but delivered nothing more than a series of fairground rides… for which guests had to pay.

‘The event itself was nothing more than a fairground. The rides were overpriced and the so-called Christmas market was a total of four stalls.’
