service and business model
Types of innovation Focused areas

Product Focuses on new or improved products derived from trends and
Innovation customer needs, including product modifications/improvements,
new products based on existing or new technologies, new
                       e.g. Apple’s iPhone applications etc.
Focuses on cost savings in production process and entire value
                       Process Innovation
                                                chain through process improvements
                        e.g. RFID and bar
                        codes in logistics

Service Focuses on services, surrounding the core product offering such
Innovation as handling or technical customer service, that will generate
e.g. realtime flexible additional value for customers
                       packaging in travel

Business Model Focuses on new business models in terms of vertical integration,
Innovation sales channels, cost structure, pricing model, etc.

Corporate Governance Through Voice and Exit: Evidence from Standard Life Inve... by London Business School, has 23 slides with 1237 views. This document summarizes a study conducted by Marco Becht, Julian Franks, and Hannes Wagner on the corporate governance practices of Standard Life Investments (SLI), a large UK asset manager. The study analyzes SLI's stewardship activities like engagement with portfolio companies, issuing of governance health warnings, and influence of internal analyst recommendations on fund manager decisions. The results show that SLI has significant stewardship engagement, governance health warnings correlate with more active voice and eventual exit, and negative voting by SLI tends to precede increased likelihood of exit from investments.

Enhancing SoTL through Generative AI -- Opportunities and Ethical Considerati... by Sue Beckingham, has 36 slides with 684 views. This presentation explores the role of generative AI (GenAI) in enhancing the Scholarship of Teaching and Learning (SoTL), using Felten’s five principles of good practice as a guiding framework. As educators within higher education institutions increasingly integrate GenAI into teaching and research, it is vital to consider how these tools can support scholarly inquiry into student learning, while remaining contextually grounded, methodologically rigorous, collaborative, and appropriately public. Through practical examples and case-based scenarios, the session demonstrates how generative GenAI can assist in analysing critical reflection of current practice, enhancing teaching approaches and learning materials, supporting SoTL research design, fostering student partnerships, and amplifying the reach of scholarly outputs. Attendees will gain insights into ethical considerations, opportunities, and limitations of GenAI in SoTL, as well as ideas for integrating GenAI tools into their own scholarly teaching practices. The session invites critical reflection and dialogue about the responsible use of GenAI to enhance teaching, learning, and scholarly impact.
