Safe in His Arms Kindle Edition
Like all Black Ops agents, Zac doesn't exist in any government record. His life is a series of deadly missions, and relationships of any kind are unsanctioned. But he keeps one secret. He watches over Becca, the beautiful daughter of a rogue agent, and Parker, the six-year-old boy he fathered that fateful weekend. When he spots a known assassin in their apartment posing as a nanny, he's forced to reveal himself and take them to safety... whether Becca likes it or not.
While Becca may have enjoyed his dominance once, bending her to his will again may not be quite so easy. He is determined to keep her safe, however, and if punishment is required, he is more than willing to oblige. Having Becca under his control rekindles more than his passion, though; even when the immediate danger has passed, he finds it much more difficult to "ghost out" on his family again. Must he resign himself to protecting those he loves from afar, or can he find a way to be the man Becca needs and longs for, the man who is worthy of her submission and her love?
Publisher's Note: Safe in His Arms is an erotic romance novel that includes both spankings and sexual scenes. If such material offends you, please don't buy this book.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 11 August 2014Absolutely loved this story. I had been wary of reading it because I have a low tolerance for absentee fathers (even fictional ones) but the whole premise is deftly handled. The story is fast-paced with plenty of clever twists as the hero, Zac, tries to juggle his secret Special Agent lifestyle with his parental responsibilities.
The heroine is an interesting mix of feistiness and vulnerability as a normally strong woman who has ended up way outside of her comfort zone as she gets drawn into a dangerous situation. There is a sweet dynamic between the adults and their kid, Parker which adds another depth to Becca and Zac's rekindled romance.
And as always for a Renee Rose story, the sex and spanking are very, very hot indeed. The couple have great chemistry together. I particularly enjoyed the description of their first meeting.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 14 October 2013Becca met Zac a handsome marine at a family wedding. They spent some quality time together. Then he went back on duty and Becca never saw him again, as he was killed on duty.
Seven years later and with a lasting reminder of Zac in her life, Zac reappears, Becca is in danger. Zac is determined to protect what's his, and if Becca disobeys him then she will be in for a good spanking.
This is a well written story, spanking themed stories are not my usual read. But this a passionate and erotic read. I liked the characters they were likeable. I did think that perhaps Becca forgave Zac rather too quickly. But considering they were under very stressful circumstances that wasn't too much of an issue. This is a quick read but well thought out with plenty of suspense.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 26 July 2013I love Renee Rose's stories and this is one of her best. This is a modern day tale as thrilling as it is sexy.
Renee's stories evoke a lot of different feelings in me and with this one I was excited, on edge, scared and emotional; in fact I ran a whole gamut of feelings in a few short hours.
Parker was brilliant and his unusual connection with Zac was unexpected but added so much to the story.
I enjoyed the fact that Becca knew what she wanted and was, mostly, happy to be in a DD relationship which she had craved for so long.
All the characters were well drawn and sympathetic and the end was lovely. The language was exceptional and the editing was immaculate.
A highly recommended book from a brilliant author.
- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 21 March 2015A fairly decent story with a black-ops operative. There is a paranormal element which creates the father-son relationship but it’s a bit too over the top.
The whole essence of the story was really a miss for me as yet again the woman is someone with little or no morals you would probably do what the female lead did in this book. However, any girl with a moral compass wouldn’t but hay this is fiction, after all. Plus for being an educated woman (she is a teacher after all of which we are constantly reminded) she does do some pretty stupid things which left me thinking ‘what were you thinking!’
There is no real back and forth between the couple, or the usual getting to know each other. All the drama in this novel comes from outside influences, some of which are seriously far-fetched. Plus she forgives him for his misdemeanour way too quickly for my liking.
The main kink in this book is spanking which rather surprised me to be honest. There was also a touch of domestic discipline. Some of the scenes were hot and steamy but there was one part of the novel that could have been oh so much more instead of what it was (quite a let-down really). In short this novel seemed all too contrived and quick. And with such formulaic books there is as always the typical HEA ending.
This book is different from normal erotic romances and not what I was expecting. Given what I said above it did keep me reading to the end. Will I read another on Mss Rose’s books? That I am not sure about but why not give it a go and decide for yourself.

- Reviewed in the United Kingdom on 5 March 2019I really enjoyed this story! It is a good fast paced, erotic, action romance with good strong believable characters, an interesting plot and some really steamy spanking scenes!
Highly recommended.

Safe in His Arms is my first experience of Renee Rose's work and I will certainly be looking at her/his other published work.
This was a shortish story but boy did it pack a lot in. Covert military operatives, domestic discipline, kidnapping, anal sex, unexpected pregancies, regular sex, people presumed dead who aren't, spanking, ermmmm well I could go on but maybe you are starting to get the picture here?
The Male lead character, Zac, was an extremely Dominant Alpha and was extremely well portrayed. You could really sense his emotional growth as the story progressed.
The female lead, Becca, has spent the last few years raising her son on her own having conceived during a weekend fling with a marine who she was later informed had died in action.
Her son, Parker, is a real sweetie and over the years has started to come up with his own stories about the father he's never known. But are they all in his imagination?
This book was a bit of a departure for me as I don't usually go for the military/suspense type of book but even taking that into account what you actually get is a romance and, dare I say it, a HEA.
Would recommend!

5.0 out of 5 stars Spankings and Spies - Yum
I think I've called Renee Rose the queen of spanking romance before but I'm going to repeat myself today. Safe in His Arms was completely different than the last two I read by her (The Westerfield Affair and The Devil of Whiskey Row) in that it was a contemporary romance. It opened hot and fast - as expected from Renee Rose - I think we were spanking within a few pages - which I always appreciate...especially when there's a story to go with it! And what a story!! A spy - who doesn't find that hot?? - and he spanks among other things... So much action in this book but also so much emotion. I think it's hard to write a contemporary romance where there is a child involved or a single parent and Becca was that single parent and having that child in the story only made it more robust. Loved it, learned something new but I won't tell that in my review...

4.0 out of 5 stars Great story, well written...but a bit too dom in the end, concerning the back story.
I loved this story line, and the relationship the characters developed despite the hardships. It was a 100% in. Beyond the romance aspect, I thought the underlying plot was well done! I was, sadly and abruptly turned off at the end when the main male character suppressed her ability to voice mamma bear feelings without permissipn/punishment.
I feel it was a bit too submissive for most mamma bears out there, to connect with. I get where the author was going with this... but it didn't work so suddenly and forcefully introduced, and with the lead up given. I was a bit disappointed in the end, but enjoyed the read throughout. I have read many of this author's books, and while this is one of her best throughout, the end left me frustrated. Perhaps because I can't see myself in her characters decision at the end of this book. This is one of her wonderful works, but frustrating to me at the end.

5.0 out of 5 stars Thought I wouldn't like it. Should have known better
i was a bit wary when i started reading this book. I do not have much adoration for fathers who abandon their child. I have not much adoration for spies. I have not much adoration for guys that beat their women into submission, just because they can, and then run like hell. No, I really thought I would not like this book very much. The guy was judged, and found guilty before I read a single word in the book. And the name of the author is not always a guarantee. I remember books of Mr. Grisham, Ms. Jacqueline Carey. Great writers, but too many books in too little time makes bad books.
I should have known better. The single mum is a single mum we all know. She is working her ass off to make a living, raises a child by herself. We all know mums like that. This one has asthma and is submissive by nature. That makes her very human. And suddenly there he is, the bad guy. Taking charge like I know he would, and she letting him. Because she is what she is. "You cannot love a man you do not know, you cannot love a man you do not trust". Good girl.
And then something unexpected happened. Ms. Rose made this superspy figure all human. There is this beautiful moment when the spy-guy realizes that the girl puts a whole lot of trust in him: "Becca was the first person who trusted him, who made him want desperately to be worthy of her gift". Now that is not superman, it is a guy of flesh and blood. So against all odds I started liking this guy. And Rebecca was adorable in the first place.
So. This is a book that wipes away your biased opinions, whether they are about superspys or the need to submit. You should do yourself a favour and read it.

3.0 out of 5 stars Undecided about this one
Becca has a one night stand with rugged dominant Zac. He disappears but leaves her with a charming child. Becca seems to have miraculously good luck with finding housing and receiving death benefits after Zac's reported death. But Zac is not dead, at least not physically. He is very black ops. He has her condo wired so he can keep track of his woman and child. Icky. And her father went missing under very suspicious circumstances. Too many coincidences. Just when an obstacle arises, something happens with little or no set up. And I just could not accept that the nanny she hires is a killer or that the child has some sort of sixth or seventh sense. If that's the case, how does the child not know that daddy is spanking mommy into orgasms.
No, I'll leave this author alone

5.0 out of 5 stars The book that had me downloading everything this author has ever written!
I'd read a few great reviews for this book and after reading the synopsis found myself hitting the 'buy now' button, and boy I'm glad I did!
The action in the book begins immediately and you're thrust straight into the storyline and the lives of the characters with brief reflections on their first meeting years earlier intertwined with the current unfolding storyline. The female character, Becca, is likeable and though at first I thought there was perhaps too much emphasis on her asthma, the author did meld it quite seamlessly into the long-term storyline. The real hero of the story however is Zac, a lean mean fighting machine spy/secret agent who has just the right mix of strength and sensitivity to keep readers engaged.
This is not your typical romance/erotica novel and even if DD isn't really your thing, you would certainly still enjoy this book.
'Safe In His Arms' is a far cry from the oft-repetitious storylines of this genre and instead offers a strong storyline of action, suspense and well-developed (not superficial) romance.
