Gas leak prompts Loves Park road closure

LOVES PARK — Forest Hills Road between Illinois 173 and Hart Road was shut down Monday afternoon after construction workers digging with a backhoe accidentally snapped a 4-inch gas main south of Illinois 173 and east of Forest Hills Road, said Loves Park Fire Chief Phil Foley.

The Road is expected to re-open by 9 p.m., a Winnebago County Sheriff’s officials said.
